This is a weekend full of great deals and fun shopping. Maxwell Street Days is a summer sidewalk sale and has been an annual event for over twenty-five years. The downtown businesses will have the sidewalks filled with unique items at fabulous prices. This is an annual tradition in Lake Geneva and a very popular shopping event. So many locals and visitors venture downtown and shop at their favorite shops. It’s a great time to pick up a couple of unique back-to-school items, start some Christmas shopping, or just grab a few things you’ve been eyeing up. The retail shops start the deals off at a great discount, but as the weekend continues, more discounts are sometimes offered. Make sure to take a stroll through downtown Lake Geneva and check out the hot deals on this hot weekend.
The 176th Walworth County Fair starts today, August 27th, and goes through Labor Day, September 1st.
This is one of the best and is an experience filled with true Midwest charm! The fairgrounds will be filled with an abundance of exhibits, exciting concerts, tractor and truck pulls, demolition derby, and so much more. The fair as always, includes animal barns, carnival rides, games, and so many delicious fair foods. Daily Admission for the fair is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for kids, and children 5 and under are free. If you are a regular at the fair and plan on going on most days, a season pass is $45 for adults and $15 for a junior season pass.

This is a traditional end-of-summer event for Walworth County residents and so many. The fair ends on Labor Day, which means the kids go back to school, making it a bittersweet week for many families. Become a vendor!
The Lake Geneva Business Improvement District, better known as the BID, and its “Downtown Lake Geneva” Facebook page are getting ready for fall. The BID’s biggest event of the year. Summer is not over, and it’s still hot and humid, but October will be here before you know it. Planning for the Annual Oktoberfest is underway. Oktoberfest draws a huge crowd and is considered the coolest block party of the year. Mark your calendar for October 11th and 12th, 2025.
