LITTLE GEMS
The Lemonade Crawl is back for its second year.
Wednesday, August 20th, from 3 p.m. through 6 p.m. Twenty-five downtown businesses will be offering lemonade treats, including different lemonades and lemon-themed treats. The businesses will also be offering different promotions and discounts. This event began last year when the Rohde family presented the idea to the BID. The Rohde kids pitched the idea, and it was received well. The BID members were on board and partnered with the family.
Participants will receive a souvenir bag, a lemonade drinking cup, and a passport to savings. Adults attending the event are ticketed $5, and children under twelve are free. A portion of the proceeds will help fund the wonderful murals around town. The lemonade crawl did so well last year, it is sure to become an annual event, leaving the Rohde family with a fabulous legacy.
This year, the event will include a free picnic in the park with family-friendly activities, music, family karaoke, a food truck rally, and more. This is a great end-of-summer event, don’t miss out and book your spot today at downtownlakegeneva.org/lemonadecrawl.
An Illinois man drowned in Delavan Lake, according to the Delavan Police Department.
First responders were dispatched to Delavan Lake near Lake Lawn around 5:41 p.m. Saturday, where they found 33-year-old Mohammed Hussauni of Lombard, Illinois, unresponsive on a boat. According to police, a preliminary investigation indicates Hussauni entered the water from the boat when he began to struggle and became submerged. He was reportedly wearing a life preserver; however, it appears to have been too small to provide adequate flotation. Hussauni was pulled back onto the boat and brought to shore, where life-saving measures were performed. The incident remains under investigation by the Town of Delavan Police Department.
