LITTLE GEMS
Polar Plunge 2026!
Thrill seekers from all over participate in polar bear plunges mostly for the challenge and adrenaline rush. Some do it for the fundraising aspect, as most are connected to a charity. Others do it just to do something exciting and eccentric to welcome in the new year.
As always, the Williams Bay Polar Plunge is set for January 1, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Join the fun and take the plunge into the freezing waters of Geneva Lake. This year, it may not be as frigid as previous years with the unusually warm weather this December. The weather is expected to be in the mid-thirties on New Year’s Day. Plungers and spectators will congregate at the Williams Bay Beach just next to Edgewater Park, unless the beach is frozen, in which case the plunge will take place at Pier 290 on Leichty Drive in Williams Bay.
A few words of advice before jumping in: do not remove clothing until you are ready to plunge, wear some kind of footwear to protect your feet from cuts and scrapes, and have a dry towel or blanket ready and waiting for you when you get out of the water.
Happy New Year!
The disassembling of the board to consider false and fraudulent advertising and consumer abuse has been abolished.
Watch your television ads. The TV has become literally covered with ad after ad of phony medications that have been proven to be totally ineffective, like Nervina and Prevagen, as well as those that are simply ‘fraudulent’ in content, like the return of the One-a-Day vitamin tablets. Proven years ago to contain nothing but inert ingredients. Remember, if it is not a prescription drug, then it does not have to be real today.
The auto protection policies covering the fields of advertising today, like Endurance and a whole lot more, are banned in many states for not paying claims whatsoever. Do not buy those products. Go to any accredited mechanic and ask about those policies, and they will, almost one and all, advise you to stay away and also inform you that if you are considering having your vehicle repaired and using that supposed insurance, then take the auto somewhere else.
