LITTLE GEMS
Preparation for the upcoming spring election has been underway.
The Spring primary, if needed, will be on February 17, 2026, and the Spring election is on April 7, 2026. All those who wished to be on the ballot, including incumbents, needed their filing papers in by January 6, 2026. The Lake Geneva City Website has all the information, required forms, and checklists for candidates. Candidates began circulating nomination papers starting on December 1, 2025. Now that papers have been submitted, the confirmation of what’s on the ballot can be released, and the campaigning will begin.
An employee from a downtown shop on Main Street is having an important birthday. Happy Birthday, Ken! Ken from Kilwins Lake Geneva has been their master chocolatier for 17 years and is celebrating 92 years young this new year. Also a well-accomplished artist in the community, you’ll find Ken’s work at Geneva Lake Arts Foundation-Gallery 223 and their annual Art in the Park.
Loving the lake, his family, and the relationships he’s built in the community, his biggest piece of advice for a happy life…stay active, stay connected, and eat one of his caramel apples a day to keep the doctor away! Cheers to you Ken!
Lucke’s Cantina in Williams Bay has new ownership.
The restaurant in Williams Bay on Elkhorn Road is now called Thee Cantina, which two women have purchased from the previous owners. If you have a gift card for Lucke’s Cantina, it is good until January 31, 2026. The new owners will take them until that date. They are also looking for full- and part-time support staff, and must be at least 16 years old. Stop in for some great food and drinks.
