LITTLE GEMS
License plate registration.
It becomes even more important to know your rights when moving in a motor vehicle. Your incidence of physical exposure to being stopped or questioned by a police officer is high these days. Eighty percent of all contacts between citizens and police, in the United States, occur because of auto-related incidents. With the advent of Roe V. Wade being tossed out, this means that who is driving a car, or in a car, in some states, may become a huge deal. The huge deal is revelations that someone like a pregnant woman is in that car, as a driver or passenger. This brings the discussion to car stops, license plate readers, and detectors emplaced at most freeway toll booth areas. The actual physical identity of the occupants of a vehicle cannot be determined by license plate reading if the vehicle is registered to a corporation, at least not if it’s an LLC corporation in Wisconsin.
The only information that machines or police will get is the corporation information or the driver’s data if it’s an actual car stop. There are soon to be cases coming up of women trying to leave punishing states for an abortion. The draconian states are passing laws to make these women seeking abortions in other states criminals. That cannot be done if they don’t know you are in a car with corporate plates. You also cannot be required to show identification in most states, even upon demand by the police, if you are a passenger. Protect yourself out there. Times are indeed changing. Incorporating costs about a hundred and fifty dollars. Changing license registration and ownership another hundred, or so. It’s worth it, even if you are not a woman, pregnant or someone helping such a woman. It is a shame so much of the country is apparently targeting women. Fight back by protecting yourself first, and then second, by voting in November.
