LITTL GEMS

A pickle ball general development plan was approved by the city’s plan commission last week.
The precise implementation plan still needs final approval from the city council, but it looks good for the goa ahead. Paul Lauterbech already owns the Tennis Court Building in Veterans Park area and plans to build a smaller version (16,000 sq. ft.) of that building.  The plan is to build the facility in the same area 630 Veterans Way, making the pickleball and tennis club neighbors. This location is in the planned business park zoning district.

The buildings will be very similar in design and the exteriors will match nicely. Lauterbach has had great success with the Tennis Club. Members enjoy multiple indoor courts and spectators enjoy the ample space for watching the matches. The Tennis Club has many members who just play for fun and exercise but also host tennis tournaments regularly.  Pickleball has become very popular and the excitement around the potential of a pickleball facility is great. The Tennis Club offers year-round playing which is great for this area due to the long cold winters and the future pickleball will do the same.
