LITTLE GEMS
The Spring Wine Walk.
This event is this weekend, Sunday, May 18th, and goes on from noon until 4 p.m. The downtown Lake Geneva businesses, also known as the Lake Geneva Business Improvement District (BID), host this wonderful event. Tickets went fast as always, and if you planned ahead, get ready to spend a lovely day strolling through the streets of Lake Geneva and sipping wine samples along the way. While visiting the fabulous downtown shops and doing a little shopping, you can sample different wines to enhance the day.
If you do not get tickets, feel free to get out and enjoy the day, do some shopping, and meet some great people doing the same. The Spring Wine Walk is very popular and so much so that a fall wine walk was added to the calendar. The wine walks sell out fast so if you didn’t get your tickets in time mark your calendars, so you don’t miss out on the next one.
The latest exhibit at Gallery 223 in Lake Geneva is the Late Spring Show, which features artworks by members of the Geneva Lake Arts Foundation.
Included in the exhibit are such media as painting, drawing, photography, pottery, glass, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, weaving, fiber, and wood. The display continues through June 1. One of GLAF’s artist members is Sharon Larson of Lake Geneva, a founding member who has shown many times and taught numerous classes at the gallery. She works in watercolor, oil, and pastel.
