LITTLE GEMS
Balance of Nature Scam.
The television stations, both network, and cable are full of these new ads for this old snake oil scam. Somehow, this lying company is able to take apples, oranges, pears, and many vegetables, and compress them into small pills. Not. This expensive sales scam is all over the television, much like the stupid ‘only get what you need’ insurance ads by Liberty Mutual (as if you know what particular insurance coverage you might need before an accident happens!).
Balance of Nature is a scam from beginning to end. If you take the pills, you are taking mostly soya. You are paying tons to follow this ridiculous regimen. and then must pay a cancellation fee to get out of the required monthly withdrawals from your bank. Don’t buy into this garbage and don’t buy Liberty Mutual auto insurance either. It’s about time that television presentations become required to back up claims made by advertisers. The public is being totally ripped off, and oh, by the way, all so-called health supplements are not under the rules and regulations of the FDA because, like with one-a-day vitamins, there are no vitamins or nutrition in them. Don’t buy into these scam products.
Construction on the signal at Edwards Boulevard and Bloomfield Road will soon begin.
The signal is being funded partly by the City of Lake Geneva, with the Badger/Joint #1 School Districts covering a majority of the costs. The city and school board have approved the plan and cost coverages, so a contract has been awarded to LeLonde and a pre-construction meeting has been held.
The project will be done in two stages. The first stage will take approximately eight weeks. This includes closing Bloomfield Road west of South 120, closing the south 120 northbound left turn lane and closing one south 120 southbound lane at a time.
Stage two will take approximately four weeks. That work includes opening Bloomfield Road west of south 120, opening the south 120 northbound left-turn lanes, closing Bloomfield Road east of south 120, closing the south 120 southbound left-turn lane, and closing one south 120 northbound lanes at a time. The city will send out Nixle updates, along with posting them on its website. Construction is anticipated to start in early May and is anticipated to be completed around July 15th.
Since when?
What the devil happened to Cracker Jacks? Does one have to be old to remember when those beloved boxes had real surprise prizes in them? When the ‘jacks’ themselves were not all popcorn but had wonderful amounts of candied peanuts interspersed? Now the boxes only look like Cracker Jacks of old. What a rip-off.
What has happened to the color of soda cans? All of a sudden, the colors are bleaching out as the companies put less money into dyes. The tops of shaving cream cans? Gone. The protective covers common for ages are no more. Now you get a button, which helps you get cream all over if you’re not careful. When did the cola companies get together, by the way, and force the public to believe that canned soda tastes as good as bottled? Talk about public relations and advertising scams. Canned tastes like canned and bottled is the real stuff. Only old people remember some things that were decidedly better in lower-tech times. Sambos was a restaurant chain for years that offered coffee for a nickel! They went out of business, not for a lack of patrons but because the word Sambo came to be considered racial. The Washington Redskins became the Commanders (what a crummy name is that?) for the same reason.
