LITTLE GEMS
The real estate business in Lake Geneva.
Whom should you choose as an organization, much less an individual realtor in that organization, to help purchase or sell a home or even participate in the rental market? That’s a tough one, as all the firms advertise pretty heavily, almost all with the same presentation. “They are the best, the cheapest, the most knowledgeable, and filled with integrity on every level”. If you go to Google and check out the ranking of realtors across the entire spectrum of careers in the county, they rank very low.
Here’s what Google’s A.I. analysis writes under search:
“AI Overview: Realtors consistently rank among the least trusted professions in various consumer surveys. Only a small percentage of the public views the profession as trustworthy, placing them near the bottom alongside professions like car salespersons and politicians.” In Lake Geneva, @Properties blew in like a fresh warm wind a few years back, but after raiding all the other reality organizations for their top producers, they sank back down into the ‘wolf pack,’ so to speak, or write. Keefe sold out to Compass, and that company continues the same kind of behavior as the poorly regarded, but huge, predecessor. So, what is one to do? Find independent realtors on the Internet or who friends and family have had success with in the past.
It’s not about the organization so much as it is about the person who’s working for you. Check credentials, as it takes very little training or study to become a realtor compared to other professional careers. Never forget in your relationship with your chosen realtor that the representative is going to make a huge amount on a purchase or sale. Treat them as if you are paying them thousands because you will be. Drive by the big real estate offices like @Properties and wave. Keep driving, however, and you’ll do fine.
