LITTLE GEMS

Halloween is almost here and that means the time to enjoy some traditional spooky fun is now.
If you are brave enough, there’s the Lake Geneva Ghost Walks, East Troy’s Walk of Terror, Dan Patch Stables Haunted Hayride at Grand Geneva, and the Haunted Hayride and Walk at Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta in Burlington. Of course, there is still time to check out the corn Maze at Pearce’s Farm Stand, along with the displays (for sale) of plenty of pumpkins and fall treats. There are plenty of spooky decorations to check out around town in Lake Geneva.

One of the favorites is the house on Spring Street located in the downtown area. As soon as the sun goes down the yard comes alive with the spookiest yard decorations around.  This display is a ‘must see.’ The Halloween season will end with traditional trick-or-treating. Lake Geneva will be trick or treating the Sunday before Halloween on October 30th, from noon until 5p.m.

Heading into the peak of fall colors. Lake Geneva is at approximately sixty-five percent color change. Lake Geneva is blessed with dense foliage and a beautiful lake, so it’s an obvious destination for visitors to come and view autumn’s beauty. With this week’s wintery weather, now is the time to take in fall colors. The winds were whipping on Monday, averaging fifteen to twenty miles-per-hour, with gusts up to thirty. Not only is the wind effecting the leaves as they depart the trees but there is the possibility of snow covering the color before peak color saturation officially hits. This is Wisconsin and Wisconsinites are accustomed to difficult weather and the need to plan outdoor activities around it. Better fall weather to come is predicted to occur in the upcoming week.

Fall Beauty of Lake Geneva

The colors are fantastic. This photo taken on South Lake Shore Road last Sunday. What brilliance and how stunning!
