It’s time for the second annual “Magical Musings of Lake Geneva” on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd.
This event is a gala inspired by Harry Potter and the magical world of Hogwarts. Friday night is all about the adults at the Maxwell Mansion from 8 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. Tickets are $25 and include a wild wizard evening with spiked potions, food, trivia and much more.
On Saturday, the event kicks off at 10 a.m. at Queen Bee Artisan Market where you pick up your clues for the scavenger hunt. The first 500 participants to finish the hunt will receive a goody bag. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fancy Faire Mall will host Hagrid and Professor McGonagle for a public meet and greet. There will be many fun events hosted by different businesses downtown and don’t forget to dress up as your favorite character as there will be a costume contest at 3:45 p.m. to wrap up the event.
The south side of Wrigley Drive is home to a section of shoreline of the beautiful Geneva Lake as well as the Riviera complex. The north side isn’t too shabby either, with a handful of great restaurants leaving no space for anything new. This may not be the case, though, for much longer. Popeye’s Restaurant has a fairly large parking lot, as far as downtown Lake Geneva parking lot standards go, and it’s for sale. It is listed with a realtor for a little over a million and a half dollars. In order to get this price (and have enough space to sell) a portion of the restaurant has been demolished, so the rotisserie shack will be closer to the main building. The work started last week and is moving along quickly. The open space on Wrigley Drive looks odd now as it has exposed the backside of a couple of Main Street units, making it appear maintenance has not been a priority. It will be interesting to see how quickly this prime little piece of Lake Geneva sells and to whom.
