LITTLE GEMS
Pearce’s Farm Stand turned 60 this year.
For 60 years, Pearce’s Farm Stand has been the Walworth County hot spot for fresh produce with every vegetable under the sun, grown by a family of farmers. Before the sprawling white building on W5740 N Walworth Road was built, there was a truly simple farm stand in its place, started by the children of Mary Ann and Robert Pearce. While the couple is still at the stand almost daily, their grandson Bob Pearce is now running it. Pearce transformed the stand from a humble shop to a full-blown, open-air market after taking over in 2013. Open until Halloween, the stand is not just a place for people to pick up produce. It also has family fun activities like jumping barrels and a huge corn maze. The hay bales are strategically placed and layered for the kids to run, hide, jump, and play.
Fall photo backdrops are everywhere, the corn maze is open for business, mums and fall flowers are available, pumpkins are in abundance, and so much more. The 10th Annual Classic Car and Tractor Show is included with all the fall fun. The show will be Saturday, September 28, from 11 a.m. through 3 p.m. The event will have so many cars and tractors to view, live music will be played in the pavilion, and the concession stand will be open with yummy fall treats.
