Lake Geneva Women’s Weekend 2024 is almost here.
The event starts on Friday, April 26th, and goes on until Sunday, April 28th. This is a public event for women and is presented by women from the Geneva Lake Women’s Association. The GLWA is a great organization for the needs and people of the community with direct service projects and financial contributions. that supports The Geneva Lake Women’s Association is celebrating its 60th Diamond Anniversary of fundraising for worthy charities.

The last weekend in April, “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” is expected to sparkle with its tribute to diamonds. This weekend is all about women, friendships, and unforgettable experiences that are sure to make lasting memories. Women’s Weekend is located in the picturesque downtown Lake Geneva. General admission tickets are necessary to attend the events and workshops. Check-in will be on Friday, April 26th at the Riviera Ballroom starting at 2 p.m., if there are late arrivals a check-in time and location will be designated on Saturday. All women checking in will pick up itineraries and a fabulous swag bag packed with great deals and gifts.  Of course, area hotels have offered accommodations and discounts for the weekend. The Lake Geneva Business Improvement District has officially announced the Murals in Motion event.
The BID has been working for some time on this project, the art has been selected and the date is set. May 15th through the 19th a celebration of art as the five murals are installed throughout the downtown. There were many submissions of art from local and national. The five selected focus on the city’s history, culture, and landscape.

Neal Aspinall, Dean Tawwater, Freybrianne Ziervogel and Sabrina Roddy, Chris Scharpf, Allison Dunavant and Christine Crawford with Girls Who Paint Murals, Dustin Eckhardt, Kelly Locander are all artists that are featured during the event and their works will be highlighted throughout the town for all to enjoy. During the installation process, spectators will get to watch art come alive as artists create their masterpieces. Student artists from Lake Geneva Schools will take you on a walk-through town while the artists fill the streets and work, the businesses will participate with sidewalk sales, and live music will be performed, bringing a lively charming feel to the beautiful downtown. Lake City Social’s parking lot will have a pop-up beer garden with entertainment and will be the location of two of the five muralists at work.

The weekend will include an alleyway dinner with food featured by Magpie’s Den & Pen, Thumbs Up, Medusa’s, and Geneva Tap House. This alleyway dinner requires tickets so reserve yours early to avoid missing out on this unique opportunity. The Business Improvement District wants families to enjoy the fun and with the help of the Rotary Club they are offering a chalk art activity and have regional artists joining in creating impressive chalk art. Alethea Salgado and Janine Osborne with the BID have worked on this event and have spent many hours making Murals in Motion come to fruition. This will be the first Murals in Motion with many more to come.
