LIVING HERE
It would seem that the city administrator, who’s responsible for having a strategic plan, has none. Strategic planning is part of why the man is being paid six figures to run the city. If you can’t have direction or directions to lead the city into the future as it unfolds, then what’s the point of having a city administrator at all? The solution to this problem, as presented by the city administrator, is to have a survey or study done to find the best outfit to go through a selection process and find a plan, or an outside outfit to come up with a plan.
The cost? Hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The GSR is back to discussing the lack of Channel 25 and how streaming of meetings went away. This is all happening because so few know about what’s going on and therefore cannot stand up and complain like hell. A few hundred thousand here and a few there can add up to a lot of money. The city comptroller just reported that we as a city are not even through August, and we are coming to the end of the money in the budget. Lake Geneva is going to be borrowing money, not to pay the bills, but to pay for studied and celebrated stupidity.
The traffic signal engineering amount of $124,000 was passed for the placement of a new intersection on Town Line Road and Edwards Boulevard.
That money is just for the plans. Of course, what we worry about is the total amount it’s going to take to pay for the installation and equipment when Pollard the builder has promised to contribute $10,000 per home built at Symphony Bay to defray costs. Count on him, like Never Say Never did when he pledged the same amount to that project. Never came through and not likely to this time either.
