LIVING HERE

Clock Tower is leaving.
The really nice, neat, and great food restaurant, family owned and operated, Back-To-The-Future Themed and called the Clock Tower Pizza is moving out of Lake Geneva. Clock Tower began at the old Franks Original on the corner of Broad and Geneva Streets. Clock Tower brought its original pizza recipe and incorporated it into what Franks already had, delicious smash burgers, dogs, and homemade fries. Clock Tower will be moving to Delavan on HWY 50, so stay tuned for more details and the exact location of this great restaurant.  The issue was all about the money.

The owner of the Clock Tower property, whom the business has been leasing from, decided that the space is worth a thousand dollars a month more than Clock Tower has been paying.  The renewal at that rate is not something that Clock Tower’s owner felt he was able to accommodate and pay the bills, as well as have any profit margin at all.  This is an important business leaving the Lake Geneva area, and it will be missed. It won’t be the last to leave during this coming winter, however.  The pandemic struck in 2020 and lifted business receipts much higher than they’d ever gone before, but the pandemic’s effects have waned, and although a lot more people come to Lake Geneva now, because they found it during the pandemic, the lessening of traffic (foot and vehicular) will have an impact on bottom lines.  The owners of business property, like most business owners in our culture, charge whatever they think they can get away with.  That is going to lead to businesses disappearing, in some cases overnight, as rents and sales prices of properties have skyrocketed.
