LIVING HERE

As high winds from the northwest blew along the Ice Castle wall, the Ice Castle wall funneled the winds down Wrigley Drive to the front of the Riviera. The angel stood on top of the fountain, covered with plastic to protect it from the elements, but that plastic also increased the angel’s wind resistance by blocking the air flow around it. This enabled the high winds funneled by the Ice Castle wall to blow the top of the fountain on its side. The below pictures show the fountain as it was this summer, then after the angel and top were blown over as the top was being removed and as a worker looks over the fallen angel.
