The coast to coast bicycle ride for water.
You may have missed them. Who or what did you miss? Well, seven wonderful men, all very physically fit former college students, who recently graduated from UCLA. They were having lunch in Seminary park Friday, June 15th. You may wonder what makes these gentlemen so special, besides their young vital natures and great charm. These seven young men, who had never really cycled any great distance at all, decided after graduating from college that they wanted to do something remarkable during the summer. They decided to ride across the United States to fight the global water crisis. Their cycling trek began at the coast of the state of Washington and will end in New York City at the headquarters of Charity Water. By the time they reached Lake Geneva, they had already ridden 2400 miles and raised $54,000 dollars. Their goal is to reach $100,000 for Charity Water, a great company that builds wells, and filtering systems for countries that do not have access to clean water. These cyclists are remarkable indeed and want to encourage everyone to go to their social media page rideforwater.com and see their route, their progress, and follow their team updates. Please don’t forget to hit the donate button. You can also email them at rideforwater@gmail for more information and questions.   There is also a women’s team cycling through Lake Geneva, but the GSR arrived too late to meet them. What a really neat thing these young people have chosen to do in celebration of their making it successfully through college.
