LIVING HERE
More Livestream cameras could be coming to downtown Lake Geneva.
The Tourism Commission would like to donate more money to fund Livestream cameras along the lake and downtown in hopes of helping promote safety and tourism in Lake Geneva. Originally, Tourism wanted to install televisions so that visitors could see themselves on the live stream but then there were concerns about weather conditions and vandalism, so the commission decided to go with QR codes that can be scanned with a direct link to the Livestream of that specific camera’s location. The QR codes would be available on the camera poles as well as on the City of Lake Geneva website.
Suggestions for locations are the municipal pier/boat launch, Riviera Beach, and the West End Pier. Members of the city council are on board with the additional cameras, specifically intended to improve tourism and to help the police department with any issues that may arise. The locations and angles of the cameras need to be finalized, as well as a final decision on funding and approval by the city council, and all that could be coming in the very near future.
