LIVING HERE

Mary Jo Fesenmaier.
This woman is an alderperson on the Lake Geneva City Council, a librarian at Eastview in a Lake Geneva grade school, and the smartest person currently serving in local Lake Geneva government.  That’s an opinion direct from the staff of the paper.  Mary Jo has seldom every missed a council meeting and when attending, is a force to be contended with, not because of her demeanor, which is quiet and amiable, but because of the razor-sharp intellect she brings to the council dais after intense study and deliberation over everything the council is working on.  After the ice storm of a week ago, there was Mary Jo, out helping friends and neighbors clear the mountains of debris that split from and descended down from most of Lake Geneva’s trees.  Mary Jo is a “keeper.”

Livingston, I presume.
There was a day, and a night, when the Town of Linn’s continued existence was in question.  Jim Livingston had just assumed his duties on the board of supervisors when the Chris Jones’ ‘faction of rural discontent’ made an attempt to overthrow the board using the powers of the once-a-year town meeting rules.  Jim Livingston was one of the people serving who was intelligent enough, and in a position to do the right thing, and he did. The Faction of Discontent was voted down.  Jim has stood for and voted on plenty of measures supporting the continued growth and financial well-being of one of Wisconsin’s most successful townships.  He’s up for re-election during this election cycle.  You will get plenty of warnings about the dates and times to vote from the Geneva Shore Report.  The GSR is unabashedly supporting what the proud and few men like Jim Livingston exhibit as everyday characteristics; selfless care, warmth and a deep abiding belief in the community and the special people who make it up.
