LIVING HERE
Being a lake community, water safety is a top priority.
Swimming lessons are a great way for everyone to be safe and enjoy the lake. The Water Safety Patrol swim lesson registration has begun. The patrol offers swimming lessons throughout the summer from June 27th through August 8th. Registration online began on Monday, May 19th at the link provided on the watersafetypatrol.org website.
In-person registration is done at the Water Safety Patrol headquarters on the Aurora University campus. The days and times for in-person registration are limited, so check the website for more information. The swim program is offered at six different locations around the lake. The lesson follows the guidelines of the American Red Cross and offers instruction for all levels from pre-beginners through advanced. Lessons are either once or twice a week and are thirty minutes long. The cost of the lessons is minimal, with the twice per week program being $45.00 for the entire summer and the once per week program only $35.00 for the summer. The Water Safety Patrol offers lessons every summer, and they are always excited to teach new students and watch the continued improvement of past students. Sign your kids up before the classes are full and have a fun and safe summer. The Water Safety Patrol on Geneva Lake is mostly run by teenage kids home for the summer, so take that into account when you are learning or hanging out with them.
