The Gravity of Youth is the highlight of the event. This wonderful young group of musicians is scheduled to perform at 1:30 p.m., and are guaranteed to entertain you. Bacon Fest will open at 11 a.m. and will go until 7 p.m. Tickets purchased in advance are $5.00, and it’s $10.00 at the door. The food and drink are available for purchase, but the entertainment, once the entry fee is paid, is free to enjoy.
The American Legion Auxiliary Poppy Sculpture has been in the works since 20218 and is now complete.
The sculpture has taken its place at the Veterans Memorial in Library Park. On Friday the sculpture was placed and installed, and then carefully covered so as to not reveal too much before the formal unveiling ceremony on Saturday morning. May is considered “Poppy Month” and how appropriate is it that the poppy sculpture was unveiled on May 1st. The sculpture is made of steel and was beautifully constructed by a local artist named John Larkin. Larkin has donated his time and talent to the project and has commissioned Ultra Coat of Elkhorn to do the powder coating. The Auxiliary paid for materials, with fundraising and donations. The chapter gifted the beautiful sculpture to the City of Lake Geneva to honor all Veterans. The Poppy Sculpture has found a home and what a beautiful addition it is to Lake Geneva, Library Park, and the Veterans Memorial.
