SPLIT DOWN THE VERY CENTER

The American nation waits in worry, fear, and anxiety, as it passes through one of its most dangerous stages since the Civil War.  With some forty-odd days left, the nation is cut in half.  Half the country believes that the current president is mad as a hatter and capable of horrid destruction as he continues to carry on about a stolen election.  The other half thinks he is absolutely sane and expressing the feelings they have contained down at their cores for decades.  The nation waits for what it knows is here, what might be coming, and then the unknown, which is most of the rest.

A financial stimulus bill was passed earlier on, as the virus led everyone to believe just how damaging, but necessary, it would be to lock down almost every business, every gathering, and just about any collection of people in groups that might provide some sort of social solace, succor or sharing of the depressive burden.  That bill had a relatively small part to it wherein individuals, millions of them, received checks or deposits for $1200.00. The rest of the billions upon billions, (thousands of billions, actually) went off to big corporations or to the relatively small part of the U.S. population that can qualify for unemployment compensation.

The current bill being considered, as the virus and its responsive effects have only gotten worse, much worse, does not even have the individual check provision contained within it.  What is to be done by an aching public?  What is to be done, as the nation endures a good percentage of its small businesses going down for good?  What is done as old people die alone, as trips to the hospital for any reason are like trips to prison, as the money continues to dwindle in pay outs to the poor and the unfortunate, now without jobs.  The current president has had a huge hand in making sure that the virus was never recognized in time for what it was.  The president coming in has signed aboard for the current likely stimulus bill without the only part of the first bill that meant anything to most people, the personal check payment.  There may well be little or no incoming warmth to recover from the cold sociopathy of the current outgoing leader, at all. Only time will tell.

Donald Trump is a con artist and now the kind of loser he’s always hated and attacked.  He’s been shown to be what he is over the years in so many ways that don’t need to be gone into here. Most of his followers know that. They don’t care. So many of his followers literally, not only don’t care that Trump locked up kids in cages or denied them repatriation to their parents, they celebrate such behavior. There was no end to the volunteers who waited to go to work as civilian guards at the death camps in Germany either. You see, there is a sizable element of all humanity that likes hurting other humans. Not doing it for money or any other rational reason. They want to do it because they like it.

There is also an element of humanity, quite a sizable one, that celebrates stupidity, especially its own, and hates anyone or anything that exhibits high intellect. It’s counter-intuitive to survival and comfort for them too, but it exists blatantly, nevertheless. We are genetically selected as the anthropoid apes we are. We don’t become the way we are primarily from learning since birth. We are mostly what we were formed out of, although that very obvious fact in anthropology and sociology, is played down because we all survive in a culture where everyone is held accountable for every act (that does not apply to the rich and powerful, of course).

We truly are the unforgiven for acts and thoughts we should not really be so diligently accountable and responsible for. The single most important feature of Trump’s rise, his period in office, and his political demise is the revelation. Yes, revelation, as in Revelations in the Bible. He’s a sign of hard, if not fatal, coming times, and do not fool yourself whatsoever, there are ‘Christians’ positively salivating at the mouth to rush the ‘end-times’ upon us all, including them. Are they stupid, or merely deep believers, for wanting themselves and everyone else to die? They are stupid but try telling that to stupid people. Trump’s followers are currently bilked out of billions of dollars by being convinced that the little tin-god conman is going to come back, like Jesus rising from the dead. No, he’s just going to live on in luxury, surrounded by paid sycophants, and miserably assigned Secret Service agents. He’ll live on with the money these people lavish on him because they are too dumb, too mean-spirited, or too rushed toward the end to care. Stop trying to understand Donald Trump, he’s easy. Try to understand and accommodate all the supporters of him, many of whom live in your family, are among your friends and even church-goers.

Fight it.  Fight the anger.  Fight the injustice.  Fight the stupidity and especially fight the loneliness you are going through.  We have become even more anonymous to one another as we attempt to circulate out in the world at all.  We are hidden behind masks.  We are distanced.  We are, by and large, in huge groups going broke.  Fight the depression.  Put up your Christmas tree and decorate it.  Stand with it, as it stands, to light the night, to light your night, and to remember that there were hard times back in the time of that little crummy stable too.  We got through and we are going to get through this, but it is going to take you and me and so many more, trying our hearts out, to make that happen
