IT’S ONLY MAKE BELIEVE
“No one will ever know how much I love you so. My prayers, my hopes, my schemes, you are my every dream, but it’s only make believe…” Go to YouTube and listen to this number one hit song from 1959 by Conway Twitty. Now, when you listen, instead of thinking about your love for someone or others, I want you to think of our country in such a credibility crisis as it has entered. America is in the schemes part of that song, and only a turn toward the hope part can likely save it.
Even if the current leader of the authoritarian system he’s attempting to install leaves office in one way or another, the following leader, regardless of party or background, could pick up the ‘tools’ the former leader will no doubt leave behind. Regardless of agreeing with the platform of either party, it is readily apparent to anyone standing back to view what’s happening in the USA that it is not to the benefit of the people for all three organs of national government to be led by members of the same party.
The surgical procedures being either used or allowed by these three groups, the executive, the Congress, and the Supreme Court, are sinking the country into a sea of pain. If recovery is to come, then that period will also be one of pain for so many people. Every arm of the current government on the national level is doing whatever it wants with the Constitution, which was the governing document that was the foundation of nationally based and most state-based systems are being discarded by interpretation.
These people in these arms of government, mostly old white men, are doing whatever they want. Nobody would have voted for such behavior if it had been known these men would do that. Of course, almost no one ever figured that the three branches of federal government would not only be ruled by republicans, but the republicans would be ruled by one man. Murder is the latest test of the country’s mettle. The sentence for drug dealers in the U.S. is not death. Usually, if caught, they get some substantial time in prison. Only in some of the Asian countries can drug dealers be sentenced to death, and then only after their country’s own process of due process to make sure they committed the terminally punishable crime.
Today, the leadership and officers of the various American military forces are executing suspects on the high seas without having any real idea of their identities or any evidence of their wrongdoing. Declaring war on another nation or a supposed organization does not allow the American military to capture and execute enemy soldiers. It does not allow murder in war-torn areas. It has stepped back from Nagasaki and Hiroshima, where thousands upon thousands of civilians were executed without warning, and they are not found guilty of anything except being inside the borders of a country at war with the USA. The illegal orders being handed down all the way from this country’s authoritarian leader and the men appointed to be civilians in charge of that military are being performed by younger men and women who have no clue as to what may happen to them for performing such acts at a later time.
The senators and congressmen who’ve stood up to go public with trying to protect these young servicemen should be commended, not investigated. They should be applauded and not condemned. The leader will, as has been stated in this set of op/eds, stop at nothing to keep the video evidence of what he and his billionaire friends did to children. War with Venezuela. War inside the USA. Nuclear strike. He will stop at nothing. The only thing that readers can do is hold down the fort. Get ready to circle the wagons and see what the minority has done to the majority of the country, a minority that is shrinking as this is written, but their damage is done. It’s just taking a while for it to play out. Almost all the mass media simply have no real care for what happens to the country. The owners live internationally, or like that rich clown who owns one of the Hawaiian Islands all for himself. A.I. is coming, and the ‘it’s only make-believe’ times are upon us.
