OUR PLACE

If you find a colorful paw print on your mailbox in Wisconsin leave it right where it is.
The USPS mail carriers do a lot to help and work hard to make sure all packages get to where they need to be, seven days a week. Add in the holiday season when mail routes may take a little longer to deliver, so as to ensure everyone has a good and cheerful holiday. Carriers also have to work with a lot of ‘different’ people and animals of all kinds too. Aggressive dogs can pose a real safety issue for USPS drivers in Wisconsin. To help keep its drivers safe the USPS is expanding its Paw Program by putting paw print stickers on not only the house a dog lives at but the house before the doghouse on the route.

The stickers are bright yellow, orange and round in shape with a black paw print in the center. If these pop up on your mailbox, it’s just to serve as a heads-up to the carrier to be careful when approaching. If you do get one, you’ll also get a postcard explaining the program. USPS says that this program has been successful in other places so far and it looks forward to expanding it into Wisconsin.
