OUR PLACE

Oh, Come on!!!
Still missing Lake Geneva meetings? The majority of city council members were impressed with the proposal from Smart Spaces and felt the technology fits its needs and voted and so went ahead to approve Smart the Spaces contract as it was written. Except, no one considered the effect the new equipment would have on cable channel 25, which is the video conduit through which all the Lake Geneva City meetings are televised. The public soon complained and insisted the issue be resolved.  The other improvements, except for the extreme annoyance created by the new system not being able to be connected to Channel 25, have successfully made the video streaming audio and visual much improved.

The city administration, along with all the city officials put forth the effort to find out the problem (which was an electronic converter) and approved the extra spending to get the equipment needed to televise meetings once again as was done before. AVPro Tech was the company that lost the bid approved by the council as it was a bit higher than smart spaces and maybe spending a little more the first time the job may have been done right and completed the first time.

Now the city and its residents sit and wait for the back-ordered bit of equipment needed to arrive. The order was expected in early February, but it has been pushed into March. Once the parts arrive, the installation job can begin, but for now, the public must wait in weary contemplation and frustration.
