OUR PLACE

T
hey are just not going to get it without being identified in detail.
The creatures of the ‘black lagoon’ have risen up from the muddy depths of Moody River and declared themselves.  After two front page articles about the petty and nasty shaming attempt by the leaders of Lake Geneva, to drive Alderperson Linda Frame from the city council using shame, unspoken and written threats and just plain civil stupidity, Alderpersons Tim Dunn (Mr. Asleep at the Helm) and Jonie (Box of Rocks) Yunker have come forward to send FOIA requests to the city’s clerk in order to secure the personnel files on their own, after getting fifteen other rather addled citizens to file before them.

Linda must now tell her attorney to file it in court again to not allow this release and pay more legal fees.  The city, meanwhile, has had the city attorney, Dan Draper, bury himself down in that same Moody River mudbank and hide.  He’s hired, on behalf of the city, an outside attorney to handle the situation, since his own handling was likely to head him straight to a look into his work by the Wisconsin Bar Association.

One has to admit that the cabal has not quit in it.  But think about it, all the other requests for personnel files of the head of Public Works, the City Clerk and the City Administrator now won’t be handled gratis as they seek to have their own files not released.  They’ll have to either have the files surrendered or engage outside counsel, which isn’t cheap.  More requests for Joanie’s and Dunn’s files will hit the city clerk like shots across the bow on Monday morning.  This is a tacky and tawdry attack on an alderperson, and it has no merit whatsoever.

The GSR has reviewed Frame’s personnel file (with her permission and the one in her own personal possession) and it’s pretty innocent, other than the fact that she and Tom Earle certainly did not care for one another one little bit.  The four alderpersons who the GSR has labeled the ‘cabal’ are Joanie Yunkor, Tim Dunn, Sherry Straube and Ken Howell, thrown together with Mayor Mayor and the six-figure (most loyally compensated) top officers running the administration of the city.

These are the people for the public to watch and listen in on.  They passed the onerous and very unpopular parking ordinance.  You may choose to thank them personally. They brought in the expensive idiocy of putting goats out at Hillmoor.  Thank them.  They hid the seven-million-dollar revenue, over and beyond the budget, dividend the city currently holds while claiming the budget was underfunded and needed increased parking rates to pay the shortfall.  There was no shortfall. Thank them for their clear secrecy and ask them what they are doing with the extra money.  These are the people after Linda Frame and you should thank her for sticking it out and standing up to them. Next year’s elections are coming.
