The Friends of Hilmoor present the first Hillmoor Star Party.
The event is to take place at the Hillmoor clubhouse parking lot from 9 p.m. until 10 p.m. this Thursday, June 27th with a rain date of Sunday, June 30th. If you have ever been to a Star Party, they are great. Adam McCulloch and GLAS Education staff and volunteers take care of all the setup of telescopes before the event and the viewing will begin at 9 p.m. Viewing the night sky alongside experts is amazing and it’s sure to build your enthusiasm for astronomy.
This is a free public event. The public can access the event beginning at 8:15 p.m., but due to the limited parking at Hillmoor, only the first who gets an online free ticket to reserve a parking spot will get to park on the property. If more should come, and the hope is more do, other parking arrangements have to be made. In the future, the plan for Hillmoor will include more parking as Star Parties and other events are going to be a regular occurrence at the treasured Hillmoor Park.
