Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 8th.
Sunday is the day to honor and spoil your mom if you are lucky enough to still have one. Mother’s Day is a day to honor and celebrate the mother of the family. Mothers influence and enhance society every day and this day is all about her. Moms don’t usually expect a lot and the smallest gesture of love and appreciation will almost surely melt her heart and make her day.
South Street Trail.
At the beginning of April, the City of Lake Geneva, along with Strand Associates Inc., held a public input meeting regarding the South Street Trail improvements. There were more than twenty citizens who attended the meeting, to ask questions and to get clarification on some concerns that were raised. Most comments were positive, and many of those attending were excited about the coming changes, but some people were concerned about the possibility of needing to remove healthy trees.
The project is about 30% underway and planned but there’s still plenty of time to find alternatives and save some of the existing trees. Most discussions have been focused on tree removals within the city right-of-way on BigFoot State Beach Parkland. The city and staff of Strand Associates will continue to reach out to concerned citizens and property owners to rectify any potential project complaints. This is a great and much-needed project. Everyone wants to do what’s best for the land and it’s wonderful to see all precautions being taken to preserve what is there with all concerns being addressed and acknowledged.
