Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 23rd. So many will be traveling to spend time with friends and family. This is the time of year when gratitude and appreciation can be felt as people come together to love and help each other. Not everyone has a family near during the holidays, so this makes the Walworth County Complimentary Dinner a big deal. This free community meal has been a part of the giving season in the area for decades. Thanksgiving meal is available for all those who want or need it.

It is a wonderful dinner that brings the community together during the holidays. No one should be hungry or alone on Thanksgiving. The dinner will be on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, from 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. at the Water’s Edge 1220 South Shore Drive on Delavan Lake. Happy Thanksgiving from the GSR.

The totally bogus operation called Balance of Nature has finally met its fate:
A federal court ordered the brand Balance of Nature to stop producing and selling its dietary supplement products this week after the Food and Drug Administration accused the two Utah-based companies behind it of repeatedly breaking the law in how they made and marketed their supplements.

This is one of the operations that the Geneva Shore Report often reported as a scam.  These thieves have offered fruits and vegetables in pill form, which is, of course, impossible. The operation was funded by unending expensive television and Internet ads and was primarily directed at older citizens who felt they needed a boost or more nutrition.  There was no nutrition in the nearly hundred-dollar-a-month supplies shipped out to an unknowing public.

Burglary in Lake Geneva.
The Lake Geneva Police Department responded to the area of S Boulder Ridge Dr for a burglary that occurred on November 15th. Homeowners in the Stone Ridge subdivision check their security cameras for any suspicious activity during the day (Approximately 10 am-5 pm). If any footage is located, please contact Detective Springhorn at 262-248-4777. The robbery took place in broad daylight, which is unusual but not the first time.

There has also been a string of car robberies around the area. There have been some smash-and-grabs east of Lake Geneva.  Stolen credit cards are being used at some of our local stores. To help with robberies and keeping an eye on the city and residents alike the city has a Crime Prevention Officer that sets up and conducts community-based programs to combat crime and promote community safety. The Crime Prevention Officer works as a liaison between community groups and the police department to promote communication and build strong relationships. Examples of these community groups include neighborhood watch groups which were formed this year. Anyone wanting to participate can call or email the City of Lake Geneva Police Department.
