OUR PLACE

This Friday, October 31st, is Halloween, and many families will be heading out for the traditional Trick or Treat fun.
The weather on this day is always a big deal. Kids want to show off their costumes in full while parents want to make sure kids are dressed appropriately for the weather. In this area, the weather is not consistent at this time of year, meaning some years it’s ok to wear just the costumes and other years full winter gear is needed. It looks like this Halloween is going to be in the middle. The historical average is approximately a high of 53 and a low of 33. As with many years, last year was an exception with a high of only 36 and a low of 2,3 and lots of snow.

Trick or Treating in 2023 was memorable, with it looking more like the Christmas season rather than Halloween. Of course, it didn’t last long, as the day after it got up to 62 degrees and rained, melting the Halloween snow. This year is expected to be almost spot on with the typical average, with a high of 53 and a low of 44. Whatever the weather, families will make do and accommodate appropriately and continue with the traditional Halloween festivities. Happy Halloween.

The Fall Wine Walk is this Saturday, November 2, 2025.
The Downtown Spring Wine Walk was a sold-out event from the start, so it was only obvious to add a second wine walk to the annual calendar, so the fall wine walk was created and is another sold-out event.  The Business Improvement District, aka Downtown Lake Geneva, hosts both walks. Fall in Lake Geneva is a special time of year, and the Fall Wine Walk just adds to the fun. Participants will enjoy sipping different wines throughout the downtown while getting a start on holiday shopping. This is a great way to enjoy time with friends and family and ignite your holiday spirit.
