The Milwaukee Brewers.
Despite having roads and parking lots closed due to standing water, 33,700 showed out to watch Milwaukee sweep New York. Due to the weather, rainwater started to fall onto American Family Field on Saturday during the Brewers’ 7-4 win over the Mets, despite the roof being closed. After the game, the storm was still going in full force as fans were trying to leave the ballpark. The Milwaukee Brewers went ahead with Sunday’s game as scheduled at Milwaukee’s American Family Field. And for the fans who braved the weather, the team made it worth their while, defeating the New York Mets 7-6 off Isaac Collins’ walk-off home run. The win gave the red-hot Brewers a series sweep over the Mets and extended their win streak to nine games.
About half of the parking lots around the venue are closed due to standing water, with the team adding that fans will not be guaranteed parking even if they paid for it in advance. The game was considered a sellout based on ticket sales, and though there were several empty seats, there was still a remarkable turnout for the game. Per the team, 33,700 fans showed up for the game, out of 42,461 total in paid attendance. Milwaukee’s 73-44 record keeps them at the top of MLB, five wins ahead of the nearest competition in both the AL and NL.
The Milwaukee Bucks.
An NBA insider predicts that the Bucks can make some serious noise in the Eastern Conference this season. The East has never been wider open, and Milwaukee hasn’t won a playoff series since 2022. With all the roster movement recently, paired with the growing frustration that comes with not meeting playoff expectations, perhaps this can be the year that the Bucks break their ‘curse’ that has shown itself recently after the regular season. During an event with EBay Giannis Antetokounmpo made a subtle hint that he’s staying very loyal to Milwaukee. Has this stopped the rumors? No, of course not. The Milwaukee Bucks have been aggressive in retooling the roster surrounding superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. Their moves in the 2025 NBA offseason have garnered praise.
Milwaukee made solid moves throughout the summer, whether it was signings or buyouts. They waived and stretched the remainder of star guard Damian Lillard’s contract, who suffered a torn Achilles in Game 4 of their first-round series against the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks used the open cap space from that move to their advantage, signing Myles Turner away from the Pacers. They later signed guards Gary Harris and Cole Anthony, replenishing their depth in the backcourt. Indeed, Giannis Antetokounmpo doesn’t have a co-star alongside him after the Bucks moved on from Damian Lillard. Despite that, it is clear that the team added balance in the backcourt and frontcourt this summer. Milwaukee is in a tough predicament because they have achieved so much with Antetokounmpo as its top player. At age 30, he still shines bright as one of the best players in the NBA, always being a threat for opponents’ game-by-game. This offseason was solid for the Bucks. However, what will matter is how they perform throughout the course of the 2025-26 season.
The Green Bay Packers.
Football is back (preseason edition) for the Green Bay Packers. After two-plus weeks of training camp practices, the Packers took the field for the first of three preseason games, starting with a matchup against the New York Jets at Lambeau Field. Packers head coach Matt LaFleur played his starters to begin the game, and it was a rough showing from every phase of the team. Jordan Love and the offense didn’t generate any offense; the defense, no matter who was on the field, couldn’t get off the field, and the special teams made a big blunder that could cost a player a roster spot. Maybe the Packers looked like a losing high school team on purpose. Maybe the Pack is setting up the league to think they are a weak team. The Pack lost the first game 30-10, and they looked like amateurs.
