The Milwaukee Brewers left-hander, DL Hall, was activated in time to start the game on Sunday with the Cincinnati Reds. Hall went 0-1 with a 7.71 ERA in just four appearances with Milwaukee before hurting his left knee while fielding a bunt on April 20. He went on the injured list the next day. He then had some setbacks in his recovery that delayed his return. In his return to the majors after spending nearly four months on the injured list, Milwaukee’s DL Hall provided reason for hope that he could contribute something to the NL Central-leading Brewers’ playoff push. The left-hander had a career-high nine strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings Sunday in the Brewers’ 4-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. This was only Hall’s sixth career start, but he showed last year he can produce in the postseason. Hall also has the versatility to start or relieve.

To make room for Hall on the active roster, Milwaukee placed left-handed pitcher Hoby Milner on the 15-day injured list with a left shoulder impingement retroactive to Aug. 9. To free up a spot on the 40-man roster, the Brewers transferred right-handed pitcher Enoli Paredes to the 60-day injured list. As he rejoins the Brewers rotation, he will look to improve upon his 7.71 ERA and 5.49 SIERA over 16.1 innings this year. It remains unclear how manager Pat Murphy plans to align his rotation moving forward.
