The 176th Walworth County Fair starts, August 27th, and goes through Labor Day, September 1st.
The theme this year is “As The Fair Turns”! The fairgrounds will be filled with an abundance of exhibits, exciting concerts, tractor and truck pulls, demolition derby, and so much more. The fair, as always, includes animal barns, carnival rides, games, and so much delicious fair food. Daily Admission for the fair is $13 for adults, $10 for seniors, $8 for kids, and 5and under is free. If you are a regular at the fair and plan on going on most days, a season pass is $50 for adults and $20 for a junior season pass.

For a more detailed schedule, event lineup, or to purchase tickets online, you can check out its website at walworthcountyfairgrounds.com. This is a traditional end-of-summer event for Walworth County residents and so many close to the area.

The fair ends on Labor Day, which means the kids go back to school, making it a bittersweet week for families.

Lake Comus.
Most people, even those living all around Geneva Lake, have never heard of Lake Comus (not Lake Como) or know where it is. Comus is just north of Delavan off hidden in a brush and tree-covered location.  It seems there’s a dam problem with that lake and the people living around it are pretty upset as the water level, for the seemingly never-ending work to be done, is reaching a critical point.  The GSR staff is headed over to check that out and maybe take enough photos and video to acquaint everyone with what it is and its location.
