SURPRISING STUFF
Just so you will know and not appear at certain places to pick up a copy of the Geneva latest Shore Report…as we are banned in some places.
The GSR is banned from the city’s municipal building, at the order of Mayor Mayor, for fairly obvious reasons. The GSR is banned from Starbucks, the one on Main and Center, because the manager doesn’t like the paper…so the GSR calls the facility monthly to see if he’s been fired yet. That disconcerts him a bit.
The GSR is banned Joanie’s Diner by Joanie the Diner herself. The place was once a regular hangout of the GSR staff but then both the facility and the GSR’s coverage gave both organizational people a bad tummy. The GSR is banned from the Piggly Wiggly in Lake Geneva because it once reported that the place needed a really good deep steam cleaning. The local bowling alley has banned the paper because the owner of that establishment is far right of even Marjorie Taylor Greene and the editorial staff of the GSR is not.
Finally, Kwik Trip has banned the GSR at both stores because the paper refuses to submit copies of its editions to the Kwik Trip home office for approval. Nobody and no organization controls or influences what the GSR writes and publishes. The GSR is finally banned from Copies Plus because the owner also thought that she could determine what the paper produces.
All those places are not wrong. They are right from their own perspective. The Geneva Shore Report, in its place, celebrates these places where it is banned because the entire staff sees the banning as verification that the paper is without editorial influence and is working hard to report about everything that’s going on, not just stuff that the GSR might profit from.
Place of the Week

Geneva Lake Arts Foundation has a gallery located at 223 Broad Street in downtown Lake Geneva. It is a wonderful organization that puts together Art in the Park.
