SURPRISING STUFF
This holiday season Yerkes Observatory has on display the world’s tallest glass tree.
This wonderful event and extremely rare piece of art is presented by Mack Glass and the Elliot Organization. Spectators will get to witness the building of the glass tree, live glassblowing, steel sculpting, and woodworking. There will be a winter market with local artists and craftspeople along with beautiful glassware by Mack. Yerkes will be offering tours of the observatory as the glass tree construction and winter market are being held.
This spectacular event goes on for only nine days. It will consist of three weekends starting December 1st through the 3rd, then from December 8th through the 10th, and last during the weekend of December 15th through the 17th. This festival is free to the public. Families and friends are encouraged to come, be inspired, and impressed while building lifelong cherished memories during the holidays.
