SURPRISING STUFF

There’s been no snow to speak of in Lake Geneva so far this year.
Not too many years back more than a foot fell in and around the cities and towns making up the Geneva Lake community on Halloween.  That was October.  The City of Lake Geneva has prepared for serious snowfalls twice, spraying brine on all the streets, especially in the hilly areas.   Still, snow is uncommon in October.  It is almost always with us, however, through November.  December starts out with no predictions of coming snow.

Accuweather, on the Internet, is predicting only one snowfall for the entire month of December.  That day is the 11th of month, but even then, the predicted temperature is 33 on the same day and 31 that night.  Not exactly snow-friendly temperatures.  Some might think the GSR will bring one snow-dumping storm after another by writing this article, but the staff of the newspaper doesn’t think in those superstitious terms, not about the weather anyway.

Go in for lunch at Burger King.
The place is better, the food hot and tasty, including the crispy chicken burger.  Frozen Fanta and Frozen cokes.  The big plus is going there when Rhonda is on duty.  She usually works the nine to two shifts.  She’s not only a hoot but a great server and the kind of ‘know it all’ you come to like instead of dread.

Habush, Habush and Rottier S.C.
Get hurt… 262 248 5200…call them.  The attorneys and assistants at this place, and it’s local, right down on Edwards Boulevard not far from the tennis building, are wonderful, attentive and a great help to anyone who’s been hurt by another.  Mostly, they do auto accidents and they work very well with the insurance companies to get fast returns on claims, as well as deal with all the medical people involved in any collision liability case.

The City of Lake Geneva 2023 candidacy paperwork is now available.
The offices of Alderperson Districts #1 through #4 and Municipal Judge are available online or at city hall. Candidates can now start circulating nomination paperwork with all papers due to the city clerk not later than Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 5 p.m. If more than two candidates file nomination papers for the same office a primary election will be held on the third Tuesday in February. All districts now vote at city hall.
