The William Guy Forbeck Foundation presented some great information regarding the organization and the half marathon it will be hosting right here in Lake Geneva.
The Forbeck Foundation has been active since 1985 and has made great progress in cancer research. The foundation has many forums throughout the year, some held right here in Lake Geneva. This year the Forbeck Foundation will be hosting its first ever Half Marathon and 5K. The event will be a celebration that raises funds for cancer research. The Half Marathon is to be held right here in beautiful Lake Geneva on June 8, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
The foundation presented the plan almost a year ago and it looks like it is coming together nicely. This has been a big endeavor as the event is expected to bring close to 5,000 people into Lake Geneva. Some will come to participate in the run, others will be spectators and supporters and of course, there will be many volunteers. The foundation has worked with several city departments to map out the route dealing with traffic and safety issues to provide a fun beneficial and safe event. The marathon will start and finish in Flat Iron Park. Event highlights include the half marathon, 5K run or walk, kids dash, live music, food, beer, and more.
