SURPRISING STUFF
It takes a team to keep Lake Geneva running smoothly.
Lake Geneva has numerous city officials, and even more city employees. Lake Geneva has a lot of moving parts and each position (or part) is extremely important in keeping the entity all on track. With so much going on at all times, when employees move on and leave positions empty, this raises some tough issues, especially in a difficult employment market. One of the reasons for the high turnover and open positions is due to an outdated pay scale, and that issue is currently being discussed amongst city officials with action in the near future (it is hoped).
The city recently had a study completed that compared the pay scale of Lake Geneva’s city employees to that of other municipalities. The results confirmed the fact that changes need to be made. Most recently the Lake Geneva Finance, Licensing, and Regulation Committee addressed the issue, and it has forwarded the results to the city council Lake Geneva is currently hiring in at least six different positions. The boat launch, parking, and lakefront are in need of attendants. The department of public works is looking for seasonal laborers, and the Riviera needs a seasonal janitor.
The Lake Geneva City municipal office is also short-staffed and looking to hire in the areas of HR and payroll. If you are looking for employment, and the new pay scale increases and want more information you can check out the city’s website www.cityoflakegeneva.com. The City of Lake Geneva is a great place to work.
Niche is back!
Every Wednesday is Wine Wednesday, which means 20% off on all wine and Greg Shaffer will be playing just outside. Hours are from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This place remains great, with fabulous coffee at decent prices, decent music in the background, and wonderful service. The wine is also still available for those who need to take the edge off later in the day.
Mia Faccia is now accepting online booking for appointments at www.miafaccia.com.
On the 27th of this month, you can go get a snack and refreshments at next-door Niche for the grand anniversary and customer appreciation day (9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.). The success of this operation is founded on the great intellect and personality of the owners, but also on the staff of people rarely found outside of the few places like Southern Wisconsin found out in the world.
Get an appointment and be treated like a King or Queen or, at the very least, like a prince or a princess.
