SURPRISING STUFF

This WisDOT project will make various improvements to approximately 3.7 miles of WIS 50, between Lake Lawn Drive and WIS 67, in Walworth County.
This project will also make improvements to a small section of WIS 67, between Glenwood Drive and WIS 50. It involves resurfacing WIS 50 from Lake Lawn Drive to WIS 67, with work including pavement removal and replacement, new traffic signals, curb ramps, guardrails, and pavement markings. The project also includes improvements to WIS 67 from Glenwood Drive to WIS 50.

The project is scheduled to begin in early September and is expected to be completed by mid-fall 2025, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT). They will close the roadway to through traffic with a posted detour on I-43 and WIS 67. Local traffic would be maintained for businesses and other destinations within the project limits. During parts of the construction, when permissible, they will keep the roadway open and construct under live traffic with lane closures and flagging operations. WIS 50 will be closed to through traffic within the project limits. WIS 50 will remain open for access to local businesses and other destinations within the work zone.
