Niche Coffee Shop and Wine/Whiskey Bar is re-inventing itself.
This great operation, which started out as a coffee shop two years ago, has closed in order to rebuild itself into something more profitable and more popular. The coffee shop had added a wine bar and then a whiskey bar, but it wasn’t enough to support the operation. The plan now is to redesign the interior of the shop and make it into a regular bar, serving regular mixed drinks, as well as beer and wine. The coffee shop part of it will remain but be reduced in size to one corner of the space available.
The plan for a new coffee shop that was supposed to be built where the little cupola outside on the south side of the building was taken out has been scrapped. It’s unknown what will be erected on that cleared plot of empty earth. Tracy and Joe, the owners of Mia Facia, that very successful and smoothly professional beauty business built on the south-facing part of the building where the Niche was located, have great plans.
The new bar, which will keep the name Niche, is planned to be opened by the end of April in order to enjoy the increased traffic likely to build on through the spring and into the summer. Those two great people have a great track record of success so it is likely that this new bar and remaining coffee shop will be a success.
The Lake Geneva Library renovations are coming to a close and are nearly finished.
While renovations have been underway the main hub for the library has been city hall. The last day of library services at city hall will be Wednesday, March 9th, as all library services will be unavailable starting March 10th, until further notice. No building access, book holds, or pick-ups will be available while they are closed. Due dates will still apply to existing materials that are checked out and can be returned at the regular book return outside the library entrance.
Overdue fines for Wi-Fi hotspots, video games, and interlibrary loan items still apply. The library staff will be busy preparing the library to reopen by reorganizing books, supplies, decorating, and adding any finishing touches that may come along. They are aiming to reopen in early April, but no official date has been announced yet.
