Mecum Auctions, home of the large old car auction collection, announces a multiyear agreement with ESPN for live streaming of Mecum events on ESPN.
Founded in 1988, Mecum Auctions has been a leader in collector car and vintage motorcycle sales for 35 years. The company works to pride itself on hosting family-friendly events for car enthusiasts from all walks of life; there is supposedly something for everyone at Mecum auctions, although one has to be a fan of old cars to appreciate that fully. Mecum hosts several auctions in a calendar year, including their largest one held each January in Kissimmee, Florida.

Mecum has automotive experts, professional photographers, web developers, videographers, content creators, advertising specialists, and more. ESPN is the ultimate destination for all things sports. ESPN+ is not a typical car sales platform. This agreement will enable Mr. Mecum, who lives on the edge of Geneva Lake and has his local showroom (that’s not a showroom at all) in Walworth, will use ESPN to have a wider audience of viewers, working to broaden the car enthusiasts’ community while bringing other audience participants to the popular streaming platform. Mecum Auctions made its ESPN debut March 20-22 at the Mecum Glendale auction in Glendale, Arizona.

Each of the three days featured six hours of auction coverage on ESPN, and it will stream all 11 Mecum events live for more than 180 hours of programming. Mecum’s website is updated daily with the latest consignments and includes detailed descriptions and photographs of the vehicles offered, as well as a detailed auction and event schedule.  If you like old muscle cars and the slightly younger Mr. Mecum, then tune in.  The man and his show are much more popular nationally than they are in Southern Wisconsin, and you can work to figure out why that is all on your own.
