Get ready for the 34th Annual Kids Day Of fishing at Big Foot Beach State Park.
Saturday, June 7t,h from 9 a.m. through 2 p.m. Mark your calendar and bring the kids for a fun day of learning and fishing with the experienced fisherman of the Lake Geneva Fishing Club. Lunch, snacks, and drinks will be provided for all kids up to 15 years old. Kids can bring their own fishing gear but if needed the fishing club will have extra supplies while supplies last. The Lake Geneva Fishing Club Members will be teaching fishing preparation and techniques. This annual event is a great way to introduce kids to fishing, who otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to fish. Of course, the club members will also be assisting the kids in fishing and landing fish. There is no fee to enter Big Foot State Park as it is also a free fishing weekend. Great weather is expected for this fun weekend of fishing. Get out to the park to join in the fun.
Lake Geneva’s beach opened on Memorial Day.
The sand was cleaned and raked, the swimming piers installed, and the beach continuously swept by the lifeguards with little pinchers and pails for any debris. There was none this year, but they went out there anyway. The beach is collecting ten bucks a person, which is exactly one hundred percent more than any beach used to charge if you are old enough to remember those days. The town was clogged all day long, with the signals working lousy and the two giant potholes on Main Street for any foolish locals who drove there to avoid and the tourists to bounce into and maybe have to buy a tire or two. Lake Geneva’s municipal department’s sense of humor is arcane and occasionally painful.
