April 2, 2024, is the spring election for local offices and the presidential primary. Candidacy paperwork was turned in on January 2, 2024, and campaigning has begun. This year’s local elections, coupled with the national and state primary elections, should allow for quite a few voters turning out but not (probably) nearly as large a turnout when the local elections are coupled with the national and state overall elections.

Nancy Douglas, the woman who owns Lake Geneva’s 96.1 FM radio station (the Geneva Shore Report got her first name wrong in last week’s issue, for which the staff fully retracts and apologizes for) heavily supported Linda Frame on her talk radio Sunday morning show.  Nancy said: ‘it’s nobody’s business what’s in those employee personnel file,” and she could not have been more correct.

The first meeting of the ‘new’ city council in the City of Lake Geneva went down on Monday night.  It was a raucous, although fairly quiet, get together, wherein the newly sworn in alderpersons tried to figure out where they fit into the operations of a city council they’d never sat on or considered sitting on before.
