THE BRIGHT SIDE

The tax season has started for the tax period of 2024.
So many people dread this time of year, as filling out tax paperwork is anything but a fun job. Some places help get the job done without too much pain but of course that dips into your return or adds to your new bill for going through the process. The Lake Geneva Library is great at helping the community get through this onerous process. The amazing VITA volunteers are here to help. So far, they have filed over a dozen tax returns for people at the library.

The VITA volunteers are available now through April 8th. They do walk-ins on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. through 1 p.m., and Thursdays, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. To see if you qualify for free tax through this IRS partnership program with the Lake Geneva Library you can check ahead of time and get a list of documents to bring with you at https://lglibrary.org/taxes24. These volunteers deserve a big thank you, along with the wonderful library that is always there for everyone.
