THE BRIGHT SIDE

Great Egg is opening another great place.
The owner of Great Egg saw the opening of a Riviera unit as a great opportunity. Paul already has a thriving business on Cook Street which offers delicious breakfast and lunch wraps, smoothies, and more. Great Egg is however most famous for its very substantial and tasty egg wraps. The new shop at the Riviera will be different but just as great. It will offer coffee (no one else at the Riviera does), smoothies, and mini donuts. Something completely different than what’s already in the Riviera Concourse. The Riviera typically opens its shops on or just before Memorial Day weekend and is a highlight of Lake Geneva and its lakefront. With spring right around the corner and the beautiful weather this winter the shops and the Riviera will be getting ready to open soon.

The preliminary hearing for a man accused of killing a pair of Elkhorn newlyweds was waived in Walworth County Court.
This allows the case for Thomas Routt to proceed to trial more quickly. He appeared in person at the hearing, while his attorney Russell Jones attended via Zoom. Jones told the court that they were ready to enter their plea, but the state asked for two additional weeks to prepare. “We will be pleading not guilty,” his attorney, Russell Jones stated. Arraignment was scheduled for March 8 at 1:15 p.m. Routt has been in custody since February 5th.

Free meal!
A free community meal program is sponsored by local groups and held at the Matheson Memorial Public Library in Elkhorn, on the second Saturday of each month. The next community meal will be on Saturday, March 9th, from 12:20 p.m. to 2 p.m. The community meal was created to help those in need while strengthening and bringing our community together through food.
