Polar Plunge 2025! Thrill seekers from all over ring in the new year by jumping in the icy waters of whatever lake is nearby.
Those who participate do it for different reasons mostly for bragging rights and the adrenaline rush. Some do it for the fundraising aspect as most are connected to a charity. Others do it just to do something exciting and eccentric to welcome in the new year. As always, the Williams Bay Polar Plunge is set for January 1, 2025, at noon By the time you read the GSR the event will be taking place so rush over if you are close by and join the fun or just hang out and watch. it may not be as frigid as previous with the unusually warm weather this December. The weather is expected to be in the thirties on New Year’s Day. Plungers and spectators will congregate at the Williams Bay Beach just next to Edgewater Park, unless the beach is frozen in which case the plunge will take place at Pier 290 on Leichty Drive in Williams Bay. Happy New Year! For many the celebrations began last night on New Year’s Eve with wonderful meals at home or at one of the great restaurants nearby. The evening continued at the drinking establishments.
Lake Geneva was full of excitement and celebration well past midnight. Hopefully, everyone was safe about it with a designated driver and all are welcoming the new year 2025 with friends, family, hope, and excitement.
