THE BRIGHT SIDE

There is no Part C in the Medicare offered in the United States to qualified older citizens.
That advertising about there being a ‘Part C’ is a lie.  The plan offered to substitute for people’s Part B is called Advantage, although it should be more accurately called ‘Legalized Theft.’  Advantage is the wildly advertised plan that offers dental, hearing, and eye coverage, a return of some cash normally paid to Medicare for Part B, and more.

It’s trash.  You cannot go back to Medicare Part B once you’ve bought the conning sales pitch.  Under the Legalized Theft program, you also become extremely limited in the doctors and medical facilities you can use.   None of this crap is discussed.  That this kind of cancerous operation is allowed to continue to hoodwink the public is an indictment of our current political system.  Don’t fall for the scam.

Is the Geneva Shore Report afraid of being sued because we are writing this?  No!  The truth is the highest and best defense against any kind of defamation accusation. They won’t accuse those scammers, since they don’t care and don’t have to either.  37% of the qualified public has already signed up.  We are so sorry, but this kind of activity abounds across all media and Internet social sites.  Why it’s allowed is beyond us.

You may have heard of Wine Walks, Beer Walks, and now, the most recent craze, Seltzer Walks.
Seltzers, in general, have become a very popular beverage and there’s a great wide variety among them. Truly and White Claw are popular brands. ‘Hard’ Seltzer is one made up of alcohol and seltzer water, some are considered hard and some have a wine base. The sales of hard seltzer need a special liquor permit, one which today would most likely not be granted in the City of Lake Geneva because of a shortage of such permits.

The more common seltzers are malt beverage or wine-based.  Both would be acceptable for a Seltzer Walk event without a full-blown liquor permit. The Lake Geneva Business Improvement District (BID) hosts an annual Wine Walk and that has been very well attended, selling out every year. The neighboring City of Delavan has had Wine and Beer Walks also, both very popular. Magpie’s of Lake Geneva would like to include a Seltzer Walk on this list.

Anthony, one of the owners and operators of Magpies on Main Street, shared his idea with Beth Tumas, a BID member and commissioner, as well as the owner of the Bottle Shop, also on Main Street. Beth was enthusiastic and on board with the idea. Anthony and Beth would like to get this walk started this year. The idea was presented at last week’s BID meeting for support from the BID and to secure help with getting the word out and letting the downtown businesses know what, when, and where such a walk might take place.  Any and all businesses that might want to be involved are currently welcome to get aboard. The event idea has been received well so far but it’s still in the planning phase and dates and permits need to be determined.
