THE BRIGHT SIDE

Emagine Entertainment, the theater on the north side of Lake Geneva.
The theater announced it will be hosting a variety of screening accommodations for its guests in July, including sensory-friendly, dementia-friendly, and open-caption screenings. What does Sensory Friendly mean?  First, it means brighter house lights and lower volume. Second, audience interaction (movement, speaking, singing) and electronic device (phone, tablet, etc.) usage are allowed. Guests are welcome to bring a safe snack for any food allergies or food avoidance/restrictions.

For its dementia-friendly screenings, Emagine said it exclusively selected classic movies and musicals and will present them in a unique setting with softer sound and ambient lighting. Guests can interact during the presentation and are encouraged to talk, clap, sing, and dance. Dementia Friendly Screenings will take place once a month and offer special pricing. $5 tickets for all Dementia Friendly Films and $5.00 for a 44-ounce Popcorn & a 20-ounce Drink.

Emagine said guests who experience hearing impairments will be able to enjoy movies with audio subtitles displayed on the big screen.
