THE BRIGHT SIDE
Venetian Fest is only two weeks away.
August 13th through August 17th, the Lake Geneva Jaycees will have its 63rd Annual Venetian Festival. This is its biggest fundraising event of the year. The Jaycees are a force of good, and all their wonderful events, and those who attend them, help them help others with generous donations. The Lake Geneva Jaycees Venetian Fest and Carnival are fun for the whole family.
There is something for everyone during this five-day event, from great rides, fun games, delicious food, live entertainment, a Venetian Boat Parade, an arts and crafts fair, and an amazing fireworks show. The festival is held in the beautiful Flat Iron Park and Seminary Park. Wrigley Drive is closed to traffic during setup and for the festival, giving all those who attend a prime view of the water of Geneva Lake. Don’t miss out on Lake Geneva’s biggest celebration of summer.
The vast array of crowds coming to Lake Geneva would make any anthropologists specializing in ethnology (what used to be called cultural anthropology) very happy indeed.
People approaching the GSR news and weather production staff both morning and afternoon now get asked to take photos of groups together, as the wonderful welcoming VISIT Lake Geneva heart and the title of the city have been so artfully placed on the upper portion of the concrete overlooking the beach where Wrigley turns north and then crosses Main Street. The staff get to talk to the people when they are having their photos taken. From China, Greece, Pakistan, India, and even Nauru and Tuvalu. Amazing, and all of them speak some form of English, unlike most American tourists traveling abroad.
Lake Geneva is about to get another coffee shop.
Summer Moon Coffee Shop has anxiously been waiting to open. There have been a few hurdles along the way, mostly out of the business’s control, as some deliveries have been delayed. The owners and staff of this new coffee shop guarantee it’s worth the wait. Located in the Geneva Square Shopping Center. This is the first in this part of town, and those who have experienced Summer Moon say it’s going to be a great addition to the city.
Summer Moon Grand Opening Saturday, August 2nd, from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. Summer Moon has twenty-five locations across the nation. The Summer Moon Company offers hand-roasted coffee and exceptional experiences. There will be free oak-roasted coffee and moon milk samples, swag, giveaways, and more. There is also a chance for all who come to win a golden ticket, which means free coffee for a year. Come celebrate this wonderful new coffee shop located at 80 East Geneva Square in Lake Geneva, WI.
