Happy Father’s Day!
Father’s Day is this Sunday, June 20th. This special day is set aside to honor all fathers and paternal bonds which are always celebrated on the third Sunday of June. In the United States, Father’s Day was celebrated for the first time in 1910 and was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd. Dodd was the daughter of an American Civil War veteran who raised her, and her five brothers, alone. After attending a Mother’s Day service at church Dodd convinced the Spokane Ministerial Association to celebrate Father’s Day worldwide. She felt that since her father played the most important role in her life, all fathers deserved a day to be honored and thanked for all they do. This is the day to make fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, or a special guy in your life with who you share that special paternal bond feel appreciated and loved. Many guys would love anything related to golfing, new tools, gift cards from DIY stores, good food, big hugs, and lots of love.  Give it to them on this special day…any or all of it.
